High Point Village receives $4,158 grant to fund Adventureland at High Point Village Summer Camp

LUBBOCK, TEXAS- High Point Village received a $4,158 grant from the Community Foundation of West Texas to fund summer program opportunities for individuals with special needs.

High Point Village is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in 2007. The organization’s mission is to create a village where individuals with intellectual disabilities can live, learn, work, worship, and achieve their full potential. High Point Village has three primary programs: Reach High, a day program for adults 18 years and older, Afternoon Enrichment classes, and Summer Camps.

The Community Foundation of West Texas grant will be used to provide families with a variety of summer programs. Adventureland at High Point Village is a three-part project developed to bring activities and programs to individuals with special needs in Lubbock and surrounding communities. High Point Village will provide a Summer Nights’ program, an art camp, and two summer camps all designed specifically for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Becky Critz, Executive Director, said “We are thrilled to get this grant! Summer activities for individuals with special needs are very limited. This enables us to expand our summer services.”
