The High Point Village Handbell choir will be performing at the Community Prayer Luncheon hosted by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce.
Villagers practice handbells and music for an hour every day of class. Not only are they learning about keeping a beat and having rhythm, they have the opportunity to learn a new skill that adds value to their life. Villagers perform with pride knowing they have the ability to play music beautifully.
The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will host the Community Prayer Luncheon, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis Lane). The Community Prayer Luncheon is held annually in honor of the National Day of Prayer.
The featured speakers for this event are Patrick Gray and Justin Skeesuck, life-long friends who have a relationship spanning over 40 years. Over the past 20+ years, a progressive neuromuscular disease has slowly taken away Justin’s ability to use his arms and legs. In the spring of 2012, Justin learned about the Camino de Santiago and asked Patrick what he thought about tackling the ancient pilgrimage. Patrick’s response was simple and direct. He said, “I’ll push you.”
Tickets for the luncheon are $50. Chamber members receive a discounted price of $35. Click here to purchase tickets. For more information about the Community Prayer Luncheon click here.
