Robert J. Freeman- Vice President, CPA
Robert J. Freeman, CPA, the Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Accounting at Texas Tech University, served on the National Council on Governmental Accounting and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, coauthors a leading government accounting textbook, leads CPE seminars nationally, and often serves as a consultant and expert witness. He and his wife, Beverley, have five children, two of whom are affected by Down syndrome.
Bradley has served as our attorney for High Point Village and as a Board member since February 2008, and has been a practicing Attorney in West Texas for twenty-one (21) years. He is a graduate of South Plains College, Texas Tech University and Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Bradley has been married to Karon for thirty-one years and they are the parents of three daughters.
Debra Salley is a Family & Consumer Science teacher at Levelland High School. She currently teaches Nutrition & Food Science, Preparation for Parenting, Apparel and Child Development. She has a B.S. degree from Texas Tech University with a double major of Home Economics Education and Clothing & Textiles. Her M.S. degree from Texas Tech is in Home Economics Education. She is known as “Jennifer’s mom.” Jennifer has Down syndrome and is her inspiration for High Point Village. Jennifer is blessed with many special need friends in the Lubbock area. High Point Village will allow her to keep these friends for a lifetime and allow Jennifer to achieve the independence and adult life that she dreams of.Debra also has an older daughter and two wonderful granddaughters.
Joel Tankersley
Joel holds a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Texas Tech University. He is a former partner in a Hybrid Seed Company, where he was involved in production, operations, management and marketing for domestic and international clients. He was appointed to represent the ASTA on a fact finding mission to India and Pakistan, and was awarded the TSTA distinguished service award in 1998.
Joel has a great supportive wife, Sallye, and three adult children, Dean, Jeff and Krista. Joel is a deacon at Bacon Heights Baptist Church, he is a former Scout Master and Past President of the Rotary Club.
Paul graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS degree in Agricultural Engineering. He worked as an Engineer and later as Vice President of U.S. Sales for Continental Eagle Corporation in Prattville, AL and later for Consolidated Gin Company in Lubbock, TX. Paul has built and managed cotton gins in Georgia and Texas and currently is the General Manager of United Cotton Growers Cooperative in Levelland, TX.
Paul serves on the board of TACT, a health insurance cooperative, the executive board of South Plains Industrial Supply, the executive board of Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council, the board of Texas Cotton Ginners Association, and on the Cotton Chair Advisory Council for Texas A&M University.
Paul has been married to Janet Wilson for 27 years and has 3 daughters. The youngest, Amy was born in 1993 and has Down Syndrome. Paul’s wife, Janet, was a founding member of Better Understanding of Down Syndrome (BUDS) in Lubbock and helped them become a 501(c)(3) organization and served as its President for five years and is currently serving on their board.
Richard Edwards is a retired attorney. He graduated from Texas Tech and the University of Texas School of Law. In addition to practicing law, he was Director of Planned Giving and later Vice President for Advancement at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
He has also served as Director of Planned Giving at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Point Loma Nazarene College in San Diego, California, and Lubbock Area United Way. He is widowed and has a daughter and two grandchildren, one of which has autism.
Prior to Legal Nurse Consulting, Darla owned and operated a large Medicare-certified Home Health Agency with a sister Assisted Living Facility, employing over 100 employees and serving thousands of clients over their lifespan. She currently holds an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Texas, is board certified (BC) in Home Health, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Home Health, and is a Certified HomeCare and Hospice Executive (CHCE). She is a former Labor & Delivery charge nurse, having also provided care in the gynecological, newborn nursery, post-partum, and pediatric units. She completed her Master’s Degree with a dual major of Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Administration, being inducted into the Honor Society of Sigma Theta Tau, as well as being an Honors Graduate. The melding of this broad experience and education equips Darla with a unique ability to provide support for attorneys with medical-legal issues.
Darla developed her LNC practice after the sale of her Home Health Agency in an effort to bridge her extensive medical experience into the arena of Health Care Law.
Darla possesses excellent writing and literature research skills. She has published for the National Association of Home Care and Hospice core curriculum and has provided numerous lectures to area nursing and medical schools on community based patient care issues, nursing leadership, and nursing administration, as well as serving on the Advisory Board for a Master’s Level Graduate Nursing Program. She also has extensive professional contacts in all areas of medicine and can use those contacts to identify and obtain appropriate medical experts. She can also provide Expert Witness testimony in her professional field of Home Health, Assisted Living, and Nursing Administration.
